Nancy Myona Cottrell passed away on June 13, 2017. She was the wife of an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God. She and her husband began their pastoral ministry in 1961 in Jasper Alabama and they retired from active pastoral duties in 2004. Between the period of 1961 and 2004 they pastored 14 churches of which 4 were pioneered, these churches were geographically located from North Alabama to Central Florida. Nancy Myona Cottrell passed away on June 13, 2017. She was the wife of an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God. She and her husband began their pastoral ministry in 1961 in Jasper Alabama and they retired from active pastoral duties in 2004. Between the period of 1961 and 2004 they pastored 14 churches of which 4 were pioneered, these churches were geographically located from North Alabama to Central Florida. At the time of her death Nancy attended Good News Assembly of God Church in Birmingham AL. Nancy was retired from Wal-Mart as a sales associate.

She is survived by two daughters, Robbie (Randy) Manning, Rebekah (Tim) Jenkins both of Birmingham AL and her son David Cottrell of Columbus GA. Four Grand Children; Randy Manning II (Fiancée Marie Johnson) of Birmingham AL, Nicholas (Gail) Cottrell of Winter Haven FL; Crystal (Jason) Myers of St. Louis MO and Beverly (Adam) Morse of Birmingham AL. Seven Great Grand Children; Jakob Manning, Harmony Morse and Austin Morse of Birmingham AL; Genevieve Cottrell of Winter Haven FL; Elijah Myers, Emily Myers and Lela Myers of St. Louis MO, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Paul David Cottrell; parents Dolphus Lee Jones and Grace Olivia Jones, her sister Betty Jackson, daughter-in-law Sandra Cottrell and her son Timothy Paul Cottrell.

Nancy was known to her friends and family as a lady who loved God and she followed her passion to pray for those in need.

Best known for her practical April Fools jokes, no matter what circumstance she found herself in on April 1, she always found a way to catch someone off guard.

Visitation for friends has been scheduled from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, June 16, 2017 at Johns Ridout's Funeral Home 1500 Gadsden Highway Birmingham AL 35235. The funeral will be conducted at Warriors for Christ Church, 3950 Industrial Parkway, Tarrant, AL on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:00 am and officiated by her pastor Randy Manning and Tim Jenkins of Birmingham.
