Mildred Hedgecock Scro, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded by her husband, Peter Scro; her second husband, Wayne Hedgecock and their son, Charles Ray (Sarah) Hedgecock; her first husband, Thomas Griffin and their son, Baldwin Lewis Griffin; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Sharon Hirschfield and Jim (Judy) Hedgecock; her grandchildren, Marc (Beth), Gregory (Mary Helen), Alex (Lydia), and Jason; 2 great grandsons, Roman and Julius; and her sister Sarah (Jimmy) Elkin.

Mildred Hedgecock Scro, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded by her husband, Peter Scro; her second husband, Wayne Hedgecock and their son, Charles Ray (Sarah) Hedgecock; her first husband, Thomas Griffin and their son, Baldwin Lewis Griffin; and 11 brothers and sisters. Born on January 6, 1921 in Eupora, Mississippi to Elmer and Minnie Bel Henley, Mildred had enormous pride in her work as a banker for AmSouth Bank for over 40 years until retiring in 1985. She was a dedicated and loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister; a devoted member of First United Methodist Church and the Birmingham Civitan Club.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Thursday, September 14th at 11am at Ridout's Trussville Chapel in Trussville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org.
